Political poetry in the Thatcher years

I recently unearthed a poem by a miner’s wife in my archive – dating from the 1984/85 miners strike. Poetry was one of the left’s many artistic responses to the Thatcher onslaught – sadly absent from today’s protest movements.

Here’s Attila the Stockbroker and the miner’s poem underneath.
